Messe Berlin at a glance
Based on a turnover of approximately 217 million euros in 2010 Messe Berlin is among the world’s ten leading trade fair companies operating their own exhibition grounds. The halls on its inner-city Exhibition Grounds cover 160,000 square metres, with an additional outdoor area measuring 100,000 square metres, making this the fifth largest trade fair company in Germany. In 2010 foreign visitors to the trade fairs and congresses organized by Messe Berlin spent approximately two billion euros in the capital and its surrounding region.
Structurally and in terms of organization the Exhibition Grounds are directly linked with Europe’s largest congress centre, the ICC Berlin. This arrangement is ideal for combining congresses and trade fairs. The international conferences held in the ICC Berlin have resulted in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) ranking Berlin fourth among the world’s leading congress venues.
